You Are Greater Than Your Neurological Condition!

Neurological diseases are tough. The brain is the organ that controls the rest of your body, and when the relationship between brain and body gets negatively impacted, things can go haywire. Only the people who experience the negative effects of neurological symptoms truly know what they’re like. Sometimes they can be quite hard to explain to others.

But We Do Understand & Can Help!

We know how your body can’t do things that others take for granted, like lifting your foot or moving your muscles. Whether it’s MS or cerebral palsy, you fight a valiant battle every day and often feel like you’re doing it alone.
But not anymore. Our team at Horizon PT is going to be your partner so that you can live a happy, healthy and fulfilled life!

What We Treat

We offer to the best physical therapy and rehabilitation for the following:

Stroke

When a section of the brain is deprived of blood supply, a stroke occurs. Naturally this can be a dangerous occurrence with negative consequences for your physical health and mobility.

How our therapist rehabilitates you depends on individual factors. How quickly did you receive medical care after the stroke? How large was the size of your stroke? We start our therapy with these kinds of key questions, and our goal is to reduce any pain and maximize mobility. Even after a stroke, you can live life well.

Multiple Sclerosis Nerve Disorder

Multiple Sclerosis

A neurological disease that grows over time, multiple sclerosis can be incredibly challenging. The pace of everyone’s multiple sclerosis differs, and so do the symptoms which can range from muscle pain to differing degrees of immobility.

Depending on your situation and how advanced your disease is, we will craft a customized physical therapy for you that focuses on muscle strength, mobility and balance. Life doesn’t have to be in the clutches of multiple sclerosis.

Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral palsy is a condition in which otherwise “normal” movements become difficult due to the brain not being able to control the body’s motor function optimally.

The symptoms of cerebral palsy differ among individuals and can include loss of muscle tone, paralysis, and difficulty moving, among other things. Our approach focuses on managing your symptoms and improving your mobility, balance and strength by a combination of stretches and exercises.

Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy is a disease in which the nerves are negatively impacted. Your nerves are like the wires that connect your command center, your brain, with your body.

When nerves stop working properly, your body may experience a range of abnormal experiences and sensations that manifest as symptoms of neuropathy. The range of symptoms is quite large. Depending on yours, we will work to reduce pain and help you to exercise in a way that assists your nerves to work better.

Drop Foot

It isn’t a separate condition, but a side effect of some other malfunction in your body, whether it is neurological or muscular. It can also be a result of nerve injury. “Drop foot” is so called because it involves inability to lift part of your foot off the ground.

Our therapy for drop foot works to give strength to your calves, lend mobility to your ankle and knee, and potentially improve your gait so that you can walk better and easier.
