Get Back To Your A-Game, With Our Top-Tier Sports Rehabilitation

Playing sports or having an active lifestyle is an amazing thing. It requires discipline, determination, and talent, and it’s an inspiration to all the rest of us. It can also put you at risk of certain kinds of sports injuries. These can range from minor to major, and if left untreated or allowed to persist, these injuries can even become a serious problem.

Sports injuries are more common than one might think.

Did you know that sports injuries impact a variety of people from elite athletes to those who simply enjoy recreational sport to young children and adolescents who are active in the playground?
Our team at Horizon Physical Therapy is committed to getting the most active members of our community (whoever they may be) back at their 100% as soon as possible.
Because you deserve to have your body, your amazing high-performance machine, working at full capacity.

What We Treat

We offer our top-rated physical therapy and rehabilitation for the following sports injuries:

Sprains

Your bones are connected by bands of tissue known as ligaments. Sprains occur when these bone-connecting bands get injured during physical activity or collision/fall. The most commonly affected area is usually the ankles, but your hips, shoulders, knees, wrist and other areas of the body can also be prone to sprains.

Our therapy for sprains focuses on your pain and inflammation reduction, restoring smooth mobility, as well as exercises to help you regain your strength.

Strains

Unlike sprains, strains happen when the muscle that’s attached to the band of tissue, or tissue attaching muscle to bone, gets injured.

Naturally, strains are common in people who play sport because we are constantly using, stretching and pushing our muscles to their limit.

Our therapy for strains also focuses on reducing pain and swelling, as well as giving the muscles healing and re-strengthening at the right time and in the right way.

Fractures

A broken bone is a serious and painful injury that can be incurred while playing sports. Depending on the area of the body where the fracture occurred, the physical therapy will be different (and, in some cases, patients will even come to us for rehabilitation post-surgery).

Our goal in rehabilitating you post-fracture is to help you heal the bone in the proper position (which is absolutely critical) and avoid further worsening or muscle weakness as much as possible.

Growing Pains

Just like adults, kids and teenagers can also sustain sports injuries. “Growing pains” or traction apophysitis occurs because children have softer tendon-connections than adults, rapidly growing bones, and often, intense physical play and activity. All of this combined together can result in injury.

Our therapy for growing pains focuses on pain reduction as well as restoring/maintaining muscle mobility and balance, so that kids can get back to being kids.
